    I bought a bag to split with a friend and I used it mixed with dirt for some small pots for seeds I started inside at home in the winter. They are just taking off now.

    Best Biochar

    I've been using Black Gold Biochar for all of 2026 on my small farm. There are so many ways it has benefited my water cycle, soil building, and animal manure management. Need to come up and get another yard soon. Thanks. I've seen other Biochar products, mostly made from Pine and softwoods, and they do not compare to the hardwood Black Gold Biochar from their special kiln.

    Biochar saved my 43 year old grapefruit tree

    In 1983, my Dad started some grapefruit trees with the seeds from a grapefruit he had eaten for breakfast one morning. He gave me one, about a foot high at the time — now over six feet tall — and I have cared for it to this day. It spends winters indoors and summers outdoors. Two years ago its leaves started turning yellow, falling off, and wouldn’t grow back. I was sure it was dying. Nothing I did to try to save it worked. I heard you talking about biochar on a few podcasts, so I ordered some as soon as it was available for purchase, repotted the tree with lots of biochar mixed in with the soil, and immediately — within one month — it had replaced all of its leaves and it couldn’t be happier. Biochar is amazing.

    The main reason I bought the biochar was to use it as a dietary supplement. Having a question about this, I contacted Topher and the company, who responded quickly to my inquiry. I also bought the soil supplement package for my son and wife, who know much more than I do regarding plants. Good price. I will have to write a future review when I have taken the biochar as a supplement for a longer time period and when my family uses the biochar for planting.

    As far as customer service and delivery of the product, I am well pleased.

    I love biochar and lots of good stuff from Topher! My garden soil loves it. Loves the activator, Loves the bag. I dropped it into a bucket and let the water soak in and percolate. Let the powder come together in the water. Use the water. Use the powder. Use the chips. IT’s all good. Thanks, Topher.
